Ryan is your typical ex-athlete trying to relive his glory days. With the prospects of his NBA career getting dimmer by the year, he’s turned to the new sport of choice for office types: cycling. Though, to keep his edge, he emphasizes that he’s a cycle tourist which is “another sport entirely”.
Anyway, in May of 2017 he quit his job, sold his non-biking possessions, bid farewell to his family and friends, and set off on a long trip with me (Surly). After 14 months in the saddle, he threw in the white towel in Peru and bought a one way ticket back to California. He has since moved to Halifax, Canada where he hopes they’ll let him stay. Based on the picture above, I’m doubtful.
